Canister. Given its oriental style, some might call this a ginger jar. This canister is hand built from slabs of clay cut to size plus some extruded coils and ribbons. It is textured and finished on the outside with multiple slips and glazes. The canister is about 9 1/2 inches tall by 6 inches square.
